At approximately 1:30 am on Tuesday, January 14th, the City received a call that the Public Works Authority building on Seneca was on fire. By 2:15 am, the building and the site’s equipment were deemed a complete loss.

The City is requesting that all citizens stay out of that area to reduce traffic and allow for all inspectors and officials to conduct their necessary assessments of the fire.

There is a taped perimeter of the facility, if you trespass beyond that taped perimeter, you will be prosecuted.

The City will have further information on the impact of this fire, the complete loss of the facility and its vital equipment, and the next steps for its Public Works Authority at a later time.

Please stay connected to the City’s official website, NowataOK.gov, and all City social media for further updates.
