Here are your Nowata City Alerts for Friday, June 27th 2025.
1 – Business Licenses and Occupational Tax Certificates expire June 30th and will need to be renewed. Business licenses applications are available at city hall and digitally at NowataOK.gov. Businesses will need to bring a copy of their OK tax documents for business licenses and ABLE documents for occupation tax certificates. Business licenses are $40.00 per year and occupation tax certificates are $50.00 each.

2 – Friday, June 27th is the last day for elderly and handicapped citizens to place a work order for the city to pick-up limbs from their home due to the recent severe storm. Limbs must be no longer than 6 feet, bundled, and placed by the street. The city will pick-up limbs from placed work orders until July 3rd. Please call City Hall to place your work order, 918-273-3538.
3 – The Nowata Sticker Club has launched and you can learn about this family friendly way to celebrate our community via NowataStickerClub.com. View the volume 1 stickers and find a Sticker Stop where you can stop by and collect them all on the website. Limited supply available.
4 – A friendly reminder that the city will not require permits on July 3rd and July 4th to shoot off fireworks within City Limits. No fireworks after 11 pm on those respective days.
5 – Event reminders for The Great Nowata Water Fight – Firefighters vs Community on July 3rd kicking off at 5:30 pm and lasting 2 hours – protect your block.
Also, a reminder about Nowata’s July 4th Celebration at Jack Gordon Park. The Fire Department’s annual food fundraiser kicks off the festivities at 12 pm with a catfish dinner, followed by a pull pork dinner.
