The City of Nowata is revealing its new branding and messaging campaign through a multiple part reveal series.
The first part of the reveal series is the story of Nowata. Our community has a history unlike many others. The New York Times once described us in a 1995 article as a,”struggling city of barbed wire (and) comatose oil fields.” We are so much more than the headlines and hearsay of those who doubt our potential and our resolve.
This is the story of Nowata.
Yes, we have water and plenty of it.
We are flowing with hometown pride and endless waves of hope for the future of this little slice of Oklahoma paradise that we call, Nowata.
From oil town roots and world renowned resident millionaires, we have seen economic boom and bust. We are where downtown is still the heart of our community and where one stoplight is all that we need to tame our traffic.
We are on the edge where the wild still roam free in Oklahoma. We are where Ironmen conquer the Friday Night Lights in the Fall.
We are rooted in the Cherokee Nation and trace our namesake to the ancestors of tribal nations who called our lands home well before statehood.
We are welcoming all that want to take a chance on now and what our community can be together, rowing in the same direction for a common goal.
Hop on now, your small town life awaits you in Nowata.
