NOWATA, OKLAHOMA

The City of Nowata will celebrate America 250 with an Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 4th at Jack Gordon Park.

The Volunteers at the Nowata Fire Department will kick-off the day's activities with their annual food fundraiser. Fish dinner starts at 12:00 pm and goes until they run out. You can order and pick-up your food from the back door at the Fire Department. Pulled pork dinners begin at 5:00 pm.

There will be a benefit auction at 6:00 pm. The auction benefits the Nowata Volunteer Firefighters and is hosted by Ella Carter, the Nowata Community Business Alliance and the Central Church of Christ.

Free watermelon will be served at 7:00 pm, while supplies last. This year's watermelon is provided courtesy of the Nowata Business Alliance.

The City's annual fireworks show will begin at dark.

For the safety of all that attend, no fireworks will be allowed in Jack Gordon Park. Signs will be posted and officers will enforce.

More information about the celebration's schedule of activities will be added as it becomes available.

Let's come together to celebrate 250 years of American Independence in our American hometown.
