Economic Relocation Incentives
The City of Nowata is unique in that its lands fall within both the State of Oklahoma and the tribal jurisdiction of the Cherokee Nation. Thus, depending on your owner's heritage, type of business and total job impact you could attract incentives from both state and tribal entities.
Regardless, our city offers an opportunity to discuss potential incentive packages with city officials, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, and if applicable, tribal representation.

Our City's Story
Founded on the boom of the oil industry and one the world's shallowest oil deposits, we rose from the newly minted Oklahoma plains to become a city. After more than a century we continue to redefine our reputation and set new economic and social goals for our city.
We're a tight-knit community bound in faith and family, as our children are our most valuable asset. Come help us write the next chapter in our community's story.
