REQUIREMENTS FOR FULL-TIME FIREFIGHTER
- HAZ-MAT AWARNESS
- HAZ-MAT OPPS
- Firefighter 1 (FF1)
- EMR
ALL ABOVE LISTED ITEMS ARE DONE WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OR AS SOON AS CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE.
MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO BE ON THE OKLAHOMA STATE FIRE PENSION.
MUST PASS THE OKLAHOMA STATE FIRE PENSION PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST. THE PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST WILL BE GIVEN.
THE TEST IS AS FOLLOWS:
1. RUN 1.5 MILES IN 13 MINUTES OR LESS
2. 35 BENT-KNEE SIT-UPS WITHIN 2 MINUTES
3. A MINIMUM OF 25 PUSH-UPS
4. CANDIDATE SHALL WALK A BEAM SECURED TO A LEVEL FLOOR MEASURING 20-FT CARRYING A JOINT OF 1-1/2" FIRE HOSE.
5. CANDIDATE GIVEN A WEIGHT OF 125-LBS SHALL LIFT THE WEIGHT FROM THE FLOOR AND CARRY THE WEIGHT 100-FT WITHOUT STOPPING.
6. CANDIDATE WILL ALSO DO A SERIES OF BENDS WITH A 15-LB WEIGHT TO BE EXPLAINED AT THE TIME OF THE AGILITY TEST.
MUST PASS THE OKLAHOMA STATE FIRE PENSION PHYSICAL.
AFTER ALL THE AGILITY TEST IS DONE THERE WILL BE A INTERVIEW PROCESS AS WELL.
Minimum Requirements for Full-Time Police Officers
The Nowata PD protects and serves our small town of Nowata, located 20 miles from Bartlesville and 50 miles from Tulsa. We’re looking for officers that are community oriented and are able to work in a small town.
The Nowata PD now offers a sign-on incentive for CLEET certified new hires: $5,000 bonus after completion of one full year of service with our department. Uniforms are supplied, including Class A and B, vest, gun belt, and firearm.
Minimum requirements:
- Full time CLEET certified
- Experience and capable of working one officer per shift
- 21-45 years of age
- A citizen of the United States
- Certified High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
- Driving record acceptable to city insurance
- If military, must have an honorable discharge and able to provide DD214
- Have no felony convictions or domestic violence incidents
- Suitable emotional stability
- Must pass MMPI testing
- Must pass physical exam and pension physical
- Must pass background investigation
