NOWATA, OKLAHOMA, July 3rd, 2025
Woah, that was so much fun, Nowata. The community truly showed out for the inaugural run of The Great Nowata Water Fight - Firefighters vs Community.
With no preplanned route announced, citizens from across our city armed themselves with water guns, water hoses, water balloons, and eve a stray water bucket as they protected their block during this 2-hour long water fight.
A huge shoutout to event organizer and city employee, Brandon Hawn, and the entire team at the Nowata Fire Department.
Also, a special thanks to all the fire departments and first responders from surrounding communities who showed up to support the launch of this family friendly event.
This event would have not been possible without the inspiration and challenge from our friends at the Chelsea Fire Department.
We now challenge our fiends in Washington County at the Bartlesville Fire Department and the Dewey Fire Department.
