Contractor Registration Process & Fee Schedule

All electricians, general contractors, concrete contractors, mechanical contractors, roofers, fencing companies, and signage companies must complete the Contractor Registration below and follow all job permitting requirements to conduct work within the City of Nowata.

Associated fees related to permitting are listed below. Fees are subject to change, please contact the Community Development Department to ensure the accuracy of the permitting fee schedule.

The City of Nowata Community Development Department's key contact is the Nowata City Code Enforcement Officer, Bradley Boyles II.

Step One - Contractor Registration Application

Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Roofing, Concrete, and General Contractors, in addition to Fencing Companies and Signage Companies, must register with the City of Nowata at Nowata City Hall.

Contractors will need to complete the following:

  • Complete the Contractor License Registration Form
  • Pay for the annual license - $40.00 a year, expires when state issued contractors cards expire.
  • Provide the City with a copy of their State card, Valid Photo ID, Business card if they have one, and General Liability insurance.

Step Two - Job Permit Application

All residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects will require a building construction permit application. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • New Construction
  • Remodels
  • Additions
  • Accessory Buildings
  • Signage
  • Fencing
  • Solar

Applicants for the job permit will need to complete the following:

Estimated time for processing Job Permit Applications:

  • Residential Applications: 2-5 business days
  • Commercial Applications: 5-10 business days

Step Three - Pass City Inspections

All residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects must pass City inspections and pay the associated fees for said inspection (s).

Step Four - Ribbon Cuttings
