How to Obtain a Building Permit in the City of Nowata

Step One: Register Your Contractor
Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Roofing, and Concrete Contractors must register with the City of Nowata at Nowata City Hall.
Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Weekdays
Driving Directions to Nowata City Hall
Cost: $40.00 a year, expires when state issued contractors cards expire.
What You Need to Bring: We'll need a copy of State card, Valid Photo ID, Business card if they have one, and General Liability insurance.
Step Two: Obtain a Building Permit

All building permit applications must be submitted to Nowata City Hall.
- What We'll Need With Your Application: A completed building application and site plan.
- Estimated Time for Processing - Residential Applications: 2-5 business days.
- Estimated Time for Processing - Commercial Applications: 5-10 business days.
Building permit costs are $100. All building permit applications must be submitted to Nowata City Hall.
Building Permit Fees: $100 per permit
Inspection Fees: $40.00 per inspection.
Step Three: Pass City Inspections
All City of Nowata inspections are $40per inspection. Please contact Nowata City Hall to schedule an inspection for your building project.

Step Four: Chamber of Commerce Grand Opening
